About Me
I'm Ryan, I'm a 21-year old computer science major from Albany, NY. I spend the majority of my free time staring at computer screens, or occassionally biking or flying RC aircraft if it's nice out.
Hobbies
When I'm not stressed out about school, I develop videogames through a group I've created called Secondhand Studios. I use a platform called Roblox which is tailored towards younger players, but allows users like myself to create games using Lua. Users who develop games earn commissions based on the profitability of their games which is how I'm getting through college!
I channel some of my Roblox profits into a biking habit that helps make up for sitting in front of a computer for most of my life. I've recently gotten into e-bikes, which make use of small electric motors and are just as fun as they sound. The kind I have is a pedal-assist bike, meaning I still have to exercise but I can do it much faster! Also I can get up the long hill from the Hudson River back to my house without dying.
I've also gotten into drones and model aircraft recently, although I'm still new to it. I've got several models, both store-bought and custom-made, ranging from quadcopters 6 inches wide to a flying wing with a wingspan of a few feet. I enjoy learning the inner workings of an RC plane and putting one together almost as much as flying one. FPV (First Person View) gear lets me fly around from the perspective of a tiny pilot onboard, which makes flying roughly 10x more awesome.
Future
After I graduate from Siena, I'd like to move to Phoenix, Arizona. I have relatives there and plenty of job opportunities, but most importantly it's warm year-round. I've had enough northeast weather the past twenty years. Plus, I can make use of the many mountain biking trails and pretty scenery in the mountains around the city.
