The Mach 1 was introduced in 1969 and specifically built for those that desired performance. The base 351ci V8 included hood air scoops, although simulated, and you could option in either 428ci V8s for even more aggressive performance. The Mach 1 was a great performace option because it was priced in between the Base models and the Shelby models. This made performance more afordable and immediately gave the Mach 1 tons of popularity.
